Missouri Track and Field Camps
2014 Thrower Development Camp
The University of Missouri Thrower Development Camp will include the latest in technique, training and drills necessary to develop future champions. The camp will be housed in the Indoor Track & Field facility of the Hearnes Center. The environment will be fun, yet throws intensive, with comprehensive coverage of both shot put and discus for all levels from beginner to advanced.

Brett Halter: University of Missouri Head Coach. IAAF Masters Level Certified in the throwing events. One of two coaches in the USA with the distinction. Also, USATF Level III Certified in the Throwing Events. In his 19th year as Missouri’s throws coach, Brett has coached over 40 All Americans, Including current Missouri standout Kearsten Peoples who last year narrowly missed the 2012 USA Olympic Team in the Shot Put with a school record throw of 59’9”.
Krishna Lee: Frist year as a Missouri Assistant Coach, Lee was a multiple All American for the Tigers – garnering honors in the Shot Put & Hammer Throw. Lee, a USA Championship qualifier in both Shot Put and Hammer was also an All Conference thrower in the Weight and Discus throws.
Dick Cochran: Olympic Bronze Medalist in the Discus Throw. University of Missouri Graduate, 2-Time National Champion.
John Fortney: By far the most experienced camp coach, now in his 14th year with the TDC. Has coached several State Champions, including Missouri standout Andy Oaker.
Lindsey Markworth Warerensburg HS: a standout thrower for the Missouri Tigers garnering All Conference Honors in both the Shot Put and Discus.
